{Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss} Lego Board
I was not very well prepared for the fact that today was Dr. Seuss' birthday, so Pinterest came to the rescue!
I searched for some activites and there are a TON out there. I never realized that Dr. Seuss' birthday was such a big celebration in school until my kiddos went to school. Now that they are homeschooled, I just had to come up with something fun (even if I was late to the party). I also wanted something that all 3 of my children could be involved in.
We are OBSESSED with LEGOs right now, so when I came across this Cat in the Hat 100 days chart over at Lil Country Kindergarten, I had a GREAT idea!!!!!
We pulled out one of our extra LEGO boards, some red, white and black LEGOs bricks and went to town. Each square on the chart I treated as a 2x2 LEGO brick, although I had to piece some together as we didn't have enough 2x2's. It was a great counting and matching activity, even for my 3 year old, AND we sat down together as a family to do it...we are always looking for an excuse to do SOMETHING as a family.
Do you have some LEGO Lovers in your home? I challenge you to try and create something out of the ordinary with them. Use your imagination <3 the possibilities are endless!
