{Sunday Lately} Week 55
Hey guys! I am back with another addition of Sunday Lately...woohoo. I really love participating because it gives me a moment to stop and reflect on my week...the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything inbetween.
This week's themes: Completing, Visiting, Repeating, Writing, Scheduling.
Completing. Hubs smoked a pork loin on Friday night, and OMG was it amazing. He had to work late, so I did all the prep work by myself, including starting his fire! Good thing I pay attention to him when he grills so I know what he is doing. I cut the pork loin open as best as I could to lay it out flat, then I sauteed some onions, garlic and fresh spinach. I seasoned the inside of the meat and spread out the sauteed veggies across the whole thing and sprinkled with a little mozzarella cheese. I then carefully rolled it all back up, wrapped it in some bacon and tied it up with baker's twine to hold it together. It sure made a delicious meal, and there is plenty left over to eat off of this week! I am so glad that Jason is enjoying his iGrill Mini that I got for him for Christmas...I love that it graphs his temperatures as he is grilling. I definitely recommend it to any other pit masters out there!
Visiting. We got to spend a little bit of time with Nana this week during a surprise visit! We always love our visits from her no matter the time of day or length of stay. Ever since her and Pop-Pop moved about an hour away, we really value the time that we get to spend together.
Repeating. Another week of homeschooling under our belts. Let me tell you...these kids can be SO incredibly difficult some days and just perfect angels other days. I guess good vs. bad days all even the experience out in the end I suppose. Mackenzie decided to have to "school time" with Ruthie as well! Love those girls ;)
Writing. I posted my first blog entry of the 2016 earlier this week. If you haven't checked that out, you can find it HERE! I finished up some skinny jeans that were in testing from Winter Wear Designs...the SK8 Skinnies. Caleb absolutely loves them, and they are just adorable on him.
Scheduling. I pulled out my planner and calendars this week and got them all updated for events we have over the next few months. I have a Plum Paper Planner for my everyday, a wall calendar in my sewing room to write my blog tours and testing deadlines on, as well as a magnetic one on the fridge for Daddy to check and have a daily reminder out where everyone can see it. There is just something so satisfying about actually writing your plans down on paper and not having to solely rely on your brain to remind you. Am I the only one? I kind of made a New Year's Resolution to be more intentional in all aspects of my life, and writing things down and even making lists (for me) really help me to view priorities and get ahead of the game.
Thank you for stopping by and listening to my ramblings of the last week! Don't forget to check out the other bloggers that are participating this week and stay tuned for some fun things happening this coming week.

I'm so in love with the red top stitching on your SK8 Skinnies. Amazing job!
ReplyDeleteTell me more about that iGrill mini! My hubby would love it. The SK8 Skinnies are awesome! I love how well you craft! My memory is leaving me so I'm shifting to pen and paper again. It's a hard transition for me, but slowing learning to use my planner more efficiently. Do you add stickers to your Plum Paper planner to decorate it?
ReplyDeleteI like to stamp and already had a ton, so when I have the time I like to add some stamping into it. Lately though I am doing good if I get ANYTHING written in it ;) The iGrill mini is a probe that you download an app for and use Bluetooth to sync to your phone. It's AMAZING!!!!
DeleteAnyone who can homeschool is a hero in my book. I don't know how you guys do it all!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how I do it myself somedays ;)
DeleteI rock both a digital planner (Google calendar) that I share with my husband as well as a Ban.do planner that I tote around with me. Gotta have paper too!
ReplyDeleteDigital really doesn't work for me, which is weird since I am a computer nerd. I just love the satisfaction of writing and having something tangible I guess.
DeleteThat pork loin sounds amazing! I don't think I'm supposed to have a grill at my apartment building, but I think some neighbors do, so I should confirm (without ratting them out) so I can get my grill on! The iGrill mini is interesting! I was actually thinking yesterday how I need a new meat thermometer, and a digital one is an option I didn't think of!
ReplyDeleteIt works so well, wraps up nicely to store and also is magnetic so you can even store it on the side of your fridge if you want. We are really loving it!
DeleteMy partner-in-crime also smokes meats — I think he's finally perfected his brisket (it's amazing). We've never stuffed meat and smoked though, and tempted by this pork loin idea!
ReplyDeleteYou should totally try it....delicious!
